Reading through most of this thread, I'm not sure if any one ever gave a good answer to this, so....

Farming is basically defined as doing a quest/mission/area/etc repeatedly merely to accumulate some particular items or gold. For example, killing lots of Kournans just to get Kournan Pendants for the Traveller.

Contrary to what some may say, farming is not necessarily a "solo" occupation. While it's obviously best usually to have as few people in the party as possible, to maximize your own drops, it is not required that it be done solo to count as farming. There is always a trade off between the number of players in the party and the ease and speed of doing the "farm" with more players. Particularly, if you are in the early stages of the game and have not acquired the skills and equipment to "solo" farm, then you will want to farm with a larger group.

For example, just yesterday, I did the Consulate Docks mission (3 times) with myself (SoS Rit), Dunkoro (mission requirement) and Livia (MM) to get the Kournan Pendants for the traveler. Actually, I did the first run without Livia, but it went much faster with her and I didn't need to pay as much attention. (So I could "drink & farm" )

Its a mission and yes it's part of the primary quests. In each campaign they have different symbols denoting missions. In prophecies it's a shield.

Missions you have not completed will flash or pulse on your map.

Missions are not quests and do not appear in the quest log. I'll save myself the effort of typing this out myself...

http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cooperative_Mission
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Prim...#Primary_Quest

Note: If you haven't completed Defend the Wall, that means you haven't done the 'The Great Northern Wall' mission yet. This is the first one, and Fort Ranik is the second. Do them in the right order.

1. It will make a difference only to your understanding of the storyline.

2. You need to release your current pet to a pet tamer first. There are several pet tamers in the game. One is just outside of Ascalon City. Note that you can't get back the pet you release.

There is also something called the Zaishen Menagerie on the PvP islands (that you cannot yet reach on your character) where you can unlock pets at certain levels by showing your pet to them before you release it. Then you can get a new one from them at the levels you unlocked instead of charming a low level one in the wild.

Which bow? If you are using a bonus weapon, then you cannot modify them. Also, many collector weapons cannot be modified.

The Nevermore Flatbow can't really be modded (you can only add a bow grip, which you can't salvage back from it).

A stance is just a type of skill - like hexes, enchantments, shouts, stances, etc.

Thank you.

So what about mini pets? How are those acquired?

Also as im a Ranger/Elimentist my primary weapon of choice is my Bow ... But this is the only weapon i use ... Its the only weapon i have/keep, I have only my bow binded to my four weapon sets slots.

Would it be a good idea to keep say a axe/hammer for melee attacks or just stick with the bow 24/7?

You can also buy them from other players.

Stick with your bow until you are able to change secondaries. You may use Expertise as a R/W to decrease the cost of energy based warrior skills if you want to play melee with those weapons. You won't be very effective using those weapons without investing attribute points, so you'll want to change your secondary class.

You can also use one-handed weapons to take advantage of different mods on alternate weapon slots, but that's somewhat advanced. Sword/axe/spear and shield are useful for running, farming, trapping, and a few other things.

You can purchase from other players, and your characters will receive them as birthday presents when the years go by. Be aware most players dedicate theirs in the Hall of Monuments; those that are dedicated will be cheap to buy, you wouldn't be able to contribute them to your own Hall, which is the vehicle for rewarding players in the upcoming game sequel.

The only effective way to use a weapon not of your native profession is through other powerful skills from a respective secondary profession, as well as special skills acquired only through the EoTN expansion quests which can greatly buff damage dealt.

In other words, stick to the bow. I've never felt a need to melee.

The box can look like this

Bla Bla [ABCD]
Survivor (1)

The first line is their name and guild tag. If they are not in a guild then obviously it won't show a guild tag.

The second line is the title they are displaying and between brackets the rank of that title. You can display titles when they reach certain levels by checking one in your H ('Hero') menu at the Titles tab. You will probably already see some title progression there but likely none that you can display yet. For example, you will see progress on the Tyria (= Prophecies) Cartography title. You can display this particular title from rank 1 onward, which is at 60% exploration.
